Resources for Urban Educators and Parents
This page contains hyperlinks to a variety of web-based resources.
I will be adding to this list periodically, as I find new sites of
interest. Please feel free to suggest sites in the comments.
Education faces a ever changing landscape, new technology makes the
changes happen even faster. Yet the ways we educate our children
have not changed in decades---especially in URBAN schools. Urban
kids are the first to adopt new technology and the last to learn
with it and we wonder why the dropout rates are larger in inner
cities. Systemic change is needed-- and fast, before Western
economies implode for lack of workers who are qualified to work in
a information driven economy. Countries like China and India are
currently filling the void. Watch this video to understand why.
Here is a great article on the subject of Digital Natives and Digital Immigrants.
